4th Kalima Tawheed (Unity)
Laaa Ilaaha Illa-llaahu Wahdahoo Laa Shareeka-lahoo Lahu-l Mulku Walahu-l Hamdu Yuhyee Wayumeetu Wahuwa Hayyu-l Laa Yamootu Abadan Abada. Dhu-l Jalaali Wal Ikraam. Biyadihil Khair. Wahuwa Alaa Kulli Shai-’in Qadeer.
English Translation: There is no God but Allah, He is One, without partner. To him belongs the kingdom, and for him is all praise. He gives life and causes death. He is Ever-Living and will never die. He is the Owner of Majesty and Honor. In His Hand is all good, and He has power over all things.
The 4th Kalima Tauheed is the strongest declaration of Allah’s Oneness. It confirms that Allah alone is the Creator, Sustainer, and Owner of everything. The 6 Kalimas in English help believers reflect on this Kalima deeply as it rejects shirk and reminds Muslims of the power, majesty, and eternal life of Allah.

What is the Importance of the 4th Kalima (Tauheed)?
The 4th Kalima is called Tauheed or Tawheed, which means believing in the Oneness of Allah. This belief is the foundation and the most important principle in Islam. It teaches that Allah is One (Al-Ahad) and has no partner (Al-Wahid).
In the Qur’an, the greatest sin mentioned is shirk – associating partners with Allah or worshipping anyone besides Him. Shirk is considered a major sin and, as stated in the Qur’an, it is not forgiven unless one repents.
The message of Allah’s Oneness is beautifully explained in Surah Ikhlas, which says:
“Say: He is Allah, the One.
Allah, the Eternal Refuge.
He neither begets nor is born.
And there is none equal to Him.”
This shows why the Fourth Kalima Tauheed is so important in strengthening a Muslim’s faith and protecting it from shirk. By taking time to learn Quran Online with Tajweed, a believer can understand Tauheed more deeply and apply it in daily life.
Hadith Reference for 4th Kalima:
The six Kalimas are not collected together in any single verse of the Quran or in one Hadith. Instead, they are recognized as authentic forms of dhikr (remembrance of Allah). Their main purpose is educational — helping children and new Muslims build a strong foundation in understanding Islam.
Different Hadiths highlight parts of the Fourth Kalima (Tauheed) and explain their importance, reminding Muslims about the Oneness of Allah and the seriousness of avoiding shirk.
It was narrated that Abu Az-Zubair said: Abdullah bin Az-Zubair used to recite the tahlil following every prayer, saying: ‘La Ilaha Illallah wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul-mulk wa lahul-hamd wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in qadir, la hawla wala quwwata illa billahil-‘azim; la ilaha ill-Allahu wa la nabbed illa iyyah, ahlan-ni’mati wal-fadli wath-thana’il-has an; la ilaha ill-Allah, mukhlisina lahud-dina wa law karihal-kafirun (There is none worthy of worship except Allah (SWT) alone, with no partner or associate. His is the Dominion, to Him be all praise, and He is able to do all things; there is no power and no strength except with Allah (SWT) the Almighty. There is none worthy of worship except Allah (SWT), and we worship none but Him, the source of blessing and kindness and the One Who is deserving of all good praise. There is none worthy of worship except Allah (SWT), and we are sincere in faith and devotion to Him even though the disbelievers detest it. ) Then Ibn Az-Zubair said: ‘The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite the tahlil in this manner following every prayer. Sunan an-Nasa’i 1340
Although the wording of the dhikr may not be identical, the meaning is very close. What truly matters is that the Prophet ﷺ would consistently engage in remembering Allah after every prayer by reciting Tahlil (لا إله إلا الله – “There is no deity except Allah”). The Fourth Kalima (Tauheed) carries the same message and helps Muslims continue this remembrance.
Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: He who uttered these words:” There is no god but Allah, the One, having no partner with Him. Sovereignty belongs to Him and all the praise is due to Him, and He is Potent over everything” one hundred times every day there is a reward of emancipating ten slaves for him, and there are recorded hundred virtues to his credit, and hundred vices are blotted out from his scroll, and that is a safeguard for him against the Satan on that day till evening and no one brings anything more excellent than this, except one who has done more than this (who utters these words more than one hundred times and does more good acts) Sahih Muslim 2691
In the Quran there’s an ayah (5:6) which says “Allah does not intend to make difficulty for you”, just the simple recitation of this phrase one hundred times and you will be the receiver of an extensive reward.
